Dear Mom

Dear Mom...my Sushi Pie...,

Happy Mother's Day! This is the 26th one of these days we have celebrated together and I am grateful for each one of them. I don't take time nearly enough to tell you how truly blessed I am to call you Mom.

I love that I can call you at 7:15 in the morning and you'll talk to me on my way to school about everything and nothing...and endure my having to call you back 8 times after my call has been dropped...

I love that you'll call and tell me that you're having ham and mac and cheese for dinner to see if I want to come up and eat with you after school...

I love that even with your sister 4 hours away you still love her well. Thank you for being an example of sisterly love to Lori and me. We are blessed to watch your relationship with Carolyn...

I love that (should the day come around) I have kids I will tell them... "Honey, sweetheart, light of my life, I love you. Now.Get.In.Here.Now..."

I love that you love Daddy so much. Hearing him ask to hold your hand last night after dinner is one of the sweetest things I hear him say to you...you both love each other well and again, Lori and I are so blessed that we see a Godly marriage played out in front of us each day. Lauren and Nicholas benefit from that, too. You all still love being together. In just a few short years ya'lls picture will be up on the screen at church celebrating 50 years of marriage. Thank you for being such an example...

I love that you love Kohl's as much as I do. And that you like to go shopping with me...

I love that you're willing to help and do with my classroom. My kids get the benefit of your love, too...

I love that when I spend the night you stay up and talk to me...even if you are really tired...

I love that you love Nicholas and Lauren so much. They are blessed to call you Amma...

I love how much you love your friends...you take care of so many people and I know that they are better for the love and care that you show them...

Mostly I just love you. And who God has created you to be and is still creating you to be...I am grateful that in his wisdom he made me your daughter.

Happy Mother's Day, Sushi Pie...I think you're pretty special!

Love,

KK

You are precious. I know your mother LOVES this post. My favorite...

"I love that (should the day come around) I have kids I will tell them... "Honey, sweetheart, light of my life, I love you. Now.Get.In.Here.Now..." "

and that you call her Sushi Pie.
